I’m a freelance photographer based in the region of Winterthur, Switzerland.
Born in 1978, the Netherlands, as a young child watching movies and mainly sf television series of the 70’s & mid 80’s I always was very fascinated about how they visual look. Story wise I could not really understand it, but the love and passion for the visual language was for me already very clear. Growing up I started reading books, and still do, about the world of cinematography watching / studying the important films and documentaries that really create the visual language, learning who the filmmakers and photographers behind the lens are.
Being in my early 20’s I went to school to learn cinematography. In the first year you learned about photography, lenses and especially light. My life changed forever when I hold for the first time an analog slr in my hands and started to exploring the world, but with a frame around it.
Oh btw, the H. in my name stands for Hoogendoorn.
